We shot the Tactical Rifle Match at Pima Pistol Club in April 2008. It was hot but not as hot as it will be in a few months. This was a rifle only match, no pistols allowed. So while it did not allow practice in transitions to pistol at close range, it did allow (require) skillfull manipulations of the rifles in a timely manner. Our group shot three AR15s One AK47 and a full auto 9mm AR. For many the movie Red Dawn holds a special place. It was not a groundbreaking movie at the time it was made. It had a few claims to fame, but at the time it was no award winner. Looking back on it however many AK47 enthusiasts feel this was their introduction to the AK47. The movie is about the Russians and Cubans attacking the United States and in particular, a group of kids in Colorado who are thrown into the fight unexpectedly one day at school. They escape the initial attacks and eventually learn to fight back at the invaders using their own weapons against them in true insurgent fashion.
